In 2020, PROS was contracted as part of a team to conduct a feasibility study for an athletic complex in McCracken County, Kentucky (in the City of Paducah). Still restricted by the effects of COVID-19 on the world, the team was able to conduct an extensive community engagement effort for the project to ensure that the community’s voice was heard throughout the project process.
Within this project, PROS was tasked with assessing the potential tourism impact of the complex (which included utilizing a Regional Input-Output Modeling System to determine economic impact multipliers), the economic impact of the new site, and the annual operating economic impacts for the full build out of the athletic complex. Additionally, PROS delivered an entire Operations and Maintenance Plan for the site, which included the development of a five-year pro forma and operating budget, a list of identified potential funding sources, and a long-term analysis of Total Cost of Facility Ownership (TCFO) principles. PROS worked specifically within this scope to ensure that every analysis provided created the most optimal approach to activate the park in a way that best served the McCracken County and Paducah community while also best utilizing community partners and stakeholders.
