What is PROS Studio
PROS Studio is an internal innovation laboratory that PROS Consulting has intentionally developed for the purposes of improving our own analyses and practices to continue to add value to and elevate the parks and recreation industry. Each year we identify priority areas of focus which may entail improving existing analyses, better understanding emerging innovations, or developing new analyses that improve our ability to understand how to support the needs of our clients and industry at large.

PROS has long recognized that thoughtful, inclusive, accessible, and innovative community engagement is at the heart of all planning projects. Not all projects require the same mix of community engagement tools and tactics, but others may require all the tools in the toolbelt. We also recognize that impactful community engagement in a process is something that needs to guide our stakeholders along a journey of not only showing up to express themselves, but also to subtly learn along the way, become more engaged, and eventually ladder-up to being an advocate. Our team at PROS has spent significant time thoughtfully crafting a resource pool of strategies, tactics and tools that help to accomplish just that in every project. We call her E.L.L.I.E.
Every system is often challenged with prioritizing its capital project investments, especially in an environment of limited dollars. There are so many considerations to consider – the benefit of the project, the public need of the project, the cost of the project, the cost of not doing the project, potential operational considerations of the project, and so on and so on. PROS has developed a thorough evaluation process and model that can defensibly generate recommended priorities taking all these variables into account. This model produces reliable, data-driven prioritization results that can serve as a helpful lens in navigating the outside pressures agencies face in prioritizing capital projects. One of the greatest challenges most systems face is managing the availability of spaces against the very fluid patterns of demand. Often times that can result in under or oversizing facilities or even managing them in a manner that creates great peaks and valleys in how facilities are used. The PROS Team have spent years studying the best methodologies for understanding how to properly balance these two important forces in our work – capacity and demand.
