In the fall of 2019, the City of Fremont’s Community Services Department selected PROS Consulting to assist in developing a Comprehensive Parks & Recreation Master Plan. The purpose of this Master Plan is to serve as a usable “blueprint” to the staff, Recreation Commission, and the City Council in preparing a needs assessment and action plan for its fast-growing population. This document is intended to be dynamic and forward-thinking, used to strengthen existing programs, facilities, and amenities, and to serve as a road map for the future. The following goals were identified as a key outcome of this planning process:
- Learn about Fremont residents by maximizing engagement with the diverse community in an extensive, innovative and inclusive manner
- Integrate learnings from CAPRA accredited agencies nation-wide
- Ensure diversity of offerings and equity (10 min walk)
- Shape financial sustainability through “next” practices
- Develop a dynamic and realistic strategic action plan
